Set up your community

The six-step guided setup that runs after you create a community.

The guided setup opens when you press Continue To Setup after creating a community. Each step has Skip and Next, and Next saves the step. You need community.settings; the owner has it.

Leave at any time: Admin shows Resume Setup until you finish, and /c/<slug>/setup picks up where you stopped.

1. Basics

Name, timezone, State (shown on records, IDs and addresses), County and City, plus a Logo and Banner (PNG or WebP, 1 MB max; the logo square, the banner about 3:1).

2. Agencies

Switch off the starter agencies you don't run, rename the ones you do, and add your own from the extra list or as a custom agency.

3. Codes

Keep the San Andreas 10-codes, status codes and penal code, or press Replace With My Own on the 10-Codes or Penal Code card to import yours, with a preview before you apply. See 10-codes and Penal code.

4. Discord

Press Add Bot (you need Manage Server in Discord), then come back and press Check Again. Turn Require Discord on or off, and use Add Mapping to map Discord roles to departments and ranks. See Set up the Discord bot.

5. Joining

Choose Open, Approval or Application, and open the community form with Open Application Form. See Invite your staff and members.

6. Done

A checklist of nine items, such as "5 of 9 set up", each marked Set up or Skipped with a link to the admin page that finishes it. Press Finish Setup to go to Admin, where everything can be changed later.

Good to know

Uploads need community.branding. Agencies need community.departments and the CMS module, or the step is read-only. Linking Discord needs community.discord, and mappings need community.departments.
