Choose who sees your profile
Set each profile field to Public, Members or Only Me, and preview what each audience gets.
Every field on your community profile has a visibility setting:
- Public: anyone, signed in or not.
- Members: active members of the same community.
- Only Me: only you. Staff can't see it either.
You set it for Avatar, Bio, Pronouns, Status line, Links, Departments, Member since, and Certifications and awards. Departments start as Public, matching the public roster. Everything else starts as Only Me, so a new profile shows visitors nothing new until you choose.
Preview it
Preview As Public and Preview As Member show exactly what each audience gets. If a signed-out visitor would see nothing beyond your name, they get a Page Not Found that looks identical to a profile that doesn't exist.
Always shown, never shown
- Your display name is always shown, with a tag if you are the owner, an admin or staff, so nobody can pass as staff by name.
- Public viewers only see public departments, and never a suspended seat.
- Your email, username and Discord ID are never part of a profile. Members and staff still see your Discord ID on the roster. See Personal details.
- Profile pages are kept out of search engines and the sitemap.
