Register a vehicle
Register a vehicle to a character or business, renew its registration and report it stolen.
Registering a vehicle puts it on record with its owner. Open Civilian, then Vehicles.
Register a vehicle
- Press Register Vehicle.
- Pick the Owner: one of your alive characters, or a business you own.
- Enter a Plate, 1 to 8 letters or digits. Statewide checks it is free as you type.
- Enter a VIN (17 characters, no I, O or Q), or leave it blank to generate one. If your community doesn't let civilians choose VINs, it is always generated.
- Fill in Year, Make, Model, Color and Plate state. A plate state other than your community's shows an Out of state badge.
- Pick Insured with an Insurer, or Uninsured. See Insure a vehicle.
When your community requires DMV approval, the registration goes to the DMV queue ("Registration sent to DMV"). Otherwise it is valid at once.
Registration status
- Pending: waiting for the DMV.
- Valid: for one year; the vehicle page shows the end date.
- Expired: the year ran out.
- Denied: refused by the DMV, with a reason.
- Suspended: by the DMV or police.
Renew Registration opens 30 days before the registration ends, and stays open once it has expired.
Stolen and recovered
Report Stolen marks the vehicle stolen; Mark Recovered clears it. A vehicle flagged by police can't be deleted or transferred.
