Attach units to calls

Put units on a call, choose the primary unit, and move a unit from another call.

Dispatchers with calls.manage_any or units.manage_any can attach any unit. A unit with calls.self_dispatch can attach itself, and other units while no dispatcher is on duty.

Attach units

  • Attach dialog: on the dispatch board, load a call and press A (or Attach). Search or filter by type or Available, tick units with Space, press P to make the focused one primary, pick Set status on attach (Auto by default) and press Ctrl+Enter.
  • Drag a unit from the Units pane onto a call in Active calls or onto the call detail.
  • Assign Self: A on the LEO board, or Assign Self on a call's page.
  • Assist Unit: on a call's page, a unit without dispatch access attaches one other on-duty unit while no dispatcher is on.
  • Detach and Set Primary: the ▾ menu on a unit chip, or the call's Units tab.

Good to know

  • The first unit attached becomes primary when the call has none. Detaching the primary doesn't change it; use Set Primary.
  • A unit already on another call needs a confirm: "Move to 26-000142?" Press Move or Ctrl+Enter.

Auto status

Ctrl+K, Layout and auto status settings, Auto status sets the status a unit moves to when you attach it, and when you detach it, clear it or close its call, per department type. Without a rule, attaching uses the first En Route code and clearing the first Available code. A unit in panic is never changed.
