Create a call
Create a call from the MDT with its origin, nature, priority and location.
Calls are created from the MDT. Each call has a number in the form YY-NNNNNN, such as 26-000142.
Create a call
- Press New Call (N or Shift+F9).
- Pick the Origin: Traffic stop, Observed, Self-initiated or Radio.
- Pick a Nature from your community's list, or type your own. A listed nature sets its default priority; a traffic stop starts as "Traffic Stop".
- Set the Priority: P1, P2 or P3 (keys 1 to 3). It starts at P2 for Observed and P3 otherwise, unless the nature sets it.
- Fill in Postal, Location, Cross street, City, County and Area. Location suggests businesses and common places; picking one fills the rest.
- Add a Description, up to 2,000 characters.
- Leave Assign me as primary ticked to attach yourself, with On Scene for a traffic stop or En Route otherwise.
- Press Create Call (Ctrl+Enter).
Good to know
- Postal starts with your unit's postal and must be in your community's postal list. A picked place whose postal isn't listed leaves Postal empty with a warning. Postals and streets fill each other in; see Autofill on calls.
- Area comes from your Areas list, and fills from the postal when it has one. It shows on the call card, the call detail and the MDT, and a unit's location reads like "Sandy Shores · Alhambra Dr / Panorama Dr".
- My Call (Shift+F8), or the status bar's "Attached to call" link, opens the call you're on.
Next: work the call and close it.
