Build pages in the site editor
Add pages to your public site from templates, set who sees them, and switch site features on or off.
The site editor builds your public site from pages of blocks. Nothing is public until you publish.
Open the editor
Open Admin, then Site, then Open Site Editor. You need site.manage, or be a department head editing your own page.
The page list is on the left, the live canvas in the middle and settings on the right. Switch the canvas between Desktop, Tablet and Phone.
The first time, Statewide creates draft pages for Home, Departments, Rules, Staff and each department, with a menu to match.
Add a page
- In the page list, add a page from Start from a template (blocks you can still change) or Blank.
- Set the page settings on the right:
- Title: up to 80 characters.
- Address: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, up to 48 characters. Names Statewide uses, such as
apply, are taken. - Who sees it: Everyone, Members only or Hidden.
- Page theme: see A different theme on one page.
- Search and share description: up to 300 characters.
- Add blocks, up to 60 per page.
Delete and reorder pages from the page list. Home is the page at your site's root: you can empty it but not delete it. A Department page is filled from that department's real data. The template list is in the reference.
Report abuse, Terms, Privacy and Content Policy always show in the footer.
Features
The Features panel switches the Public site and Applications modules, like Admin, Modules. With the Public site off, every public page returns not found. Calendar and events and member profiles are always on. Wiki and guides, Gallery, Forums, Badges, Server updates and Server status are coming later; their blocks unlock when they ship.
