Work the dispatch board
Arrange the dispatch board's panes, split the units pane, save filters and pop panes out.
The dispatch board is where dispatchers run calls. It has four panes: Active calls, 911 queue, Units (grouped by department; collapse one with its header) and Call detail, which shows the call you select.
Use the board
- Press Enter on a call to load it into Call detail. Alt+1 to Alt+4 jump between panes.
- Arrangement: Two column (calls and 911 queue left, units right, detail along the bottom) or Detail right. Pane sizes are saved in this browser.
- Two panes: split Units in two, each with its own All, Available or Busy filter.
- Filters: each pane's menu saves its column filters under a name, in this browser.
- Pop Out opens a pane in its own live window; Call Popout does the same for the selected call.
- The toolbar holds Search, Returns, Alerts, Laws, Call History, Map and Call Popout. The command line sits at the bottom.
Change the layout
- Press Ctrl+K and choose Layout and auto status settings. MDT settings opens.
- Under Layout, pick the arrangement for this device, and the order and visibility of the toolbar buttons.
Auto status, in the same dialog, is covered in Attach units to calls.
From the board you can also attach units, set a unit's status, send tones and run timers.
