Use the document editor
Write rules and SOPs in a word-processor style editor with tables, callouts, images and live references.
The document editor writes your documents. Its Rich view works like a word processor. Open Documents, then New Page or Edit.
Write and format
- Use the toolbar for text styles (Paragraph, Section, Subsection), formatting, lists, rule numbers, links, tables, callouts, images and dividers. Every button and shortcut is in the reference.
- Insert, or
/on an empty line, opens a searchable menu of everything you can add, including a footnote, a collapsible section and a table of contents. - Find (Ctrl F) searches the page and replaces one match or all of them.
- Switch between Rich, Split (Markdown beside a live preview, wide screens only) and Markdown. They show the same document. Raw HTML typed in Markdown shows as text and never runs.
Reference your CAD lists
From Insert, Penal code reference ([[PC 2-14]]) and 10-code reference ([[10-80]]) show the charge or code meaning as a chip, or "not found" when it's missing. See Penal code and 10-codes.
Add an image
Image takes a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 5 MB. You can also paste or drop a file into the page. Add a description for members who use a screen reader.
The side panel
- Outline: jump to a section.
- Settings: the slug, Visibility (with the department and optional subdivision), Show in nav for public pages, and rule numbering. See Who can read a page.
- History: published versions. See Restore an earlier version.
- Syntax: a Markdown cheat sheet.
The bar above the page shows the live revision and whether your draft has changes. Your draft is also kept on this device only; come back to unpublished changes and Restore Draft or Discard appears.
