Use join codes
Give a department a join code so members can add themselves at its entry rank.
A department join code lets a member add themselves to the department at its entry rank.
Make a code
- Open the department editor and press Generate Join Code.
- Copy the code now. It is 8 characters and is shown once.
Rotate Join Code replaces it, and the old code stops working. Clear Join Code removes it. Codes don't expire and have no use limit.
Join with a code
Members enter the code on their dashboard in Join a Department and press Join Department. They join at the entry rank and get that rank's role. If they already have a main department, the new seat is a reserve spot. Only active members can join this way.
If it doesn't work
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enter a department code. | The field was empty. |
| No department uses that code. | It was mistyped, rotated, cleared, or belongs to another community. |
| Already a member of LSPD. | You already hold a seat in that department. |
| Department has no ranks yet. Ask its command staff. | There is no rank to join at. |
| Too many join code attempts. Try again in an hour. | Members get 10 tries an hour in each community, right or wrong. |
