What a transfer changes
What a transferred seat keeps, what resets, and why a transfer request is refused.
The seat moves in place, so the member keeps the same spot record.
What moves and what resets
| Kept | Cleared or replaced |
|---|---|
| Membership and main or reserve assignment | The old department's subdivisions and certifications |
| Duty sessions and past promotions | Course sign-offs from the old department |
| Where the seat came from (Manual, Discord or join code) | Department roles held in the old department |
| Badge number | |
| Callsign (set to the one accepted, or left empty) |
The old rank's and join code's roles are swapped for the new rank's, and one promotion entry reads "Transfer from LSPD". Every step is in the audit log, naming both departments.
Refusals
A request is refused when it is asked, and checked again at finalize, when:
- you are on leave or suspended in the department, or on duty in it (go off duty first),
- you already hold a spot in the target department, or picked the same one,
- your membership isn't active,
- the spot already has an open request,
- the callsign is taken in the joining department or doesn't fit its pattern (checked when it accepts),
- Discord manages the seat. See Discord managed.
